John Oxlade

My uncle was a Lancastria survivor. He often lamented that the sinking of the ship was not well-known enough. Churchill censored the details, believing they could damage the nation’s morale so soon after the Dunkirk rescue. Others have written factual historical details without which this book would not have been possible. I am extremely grateful for their fine work. I hope that by writing a novel based on true events, I can not only entertain, but also graphically describe the horrendous details of what was Britain’s worst maritime disaster.
